A crest is the most personal thing a manager creates in ManageFC. You choose the shape, the colours, the symbol, the materials and the lettering in the badge designer, and from then on it is your club. So it was a bad moment when players started telling us that their club had two crests — the one they designed, and an older, simpler one that still appeared on some screens.
Why it happened
The game had grown three different ways of drawing a club's badge. The oldest drew a basic shield with colours and initials. A second one drew the detailed design from the badge designer. A third, used in a few places, drew a coloured square with letters. Depending on which screen you opened, you saw a different one.
The fix: one source of truth
On 28 August 2026 we made a simple decision: the crest you design is the only crest that exists. Every screen in the game now draws the club badge through a single component, reading the design you saved in the badge designer. Clubs that never opened the designer get a sensible default built from their colours and initials, drawn by the same component — so it looks consistent, and it is replaced the moment you design your own.
Then we went looking for every place that drew a badge any other way, and removed them: the club page, the club creation previews, match pages and fixtures.
Testing it like a player
We tested it as a new manager would: create a club, design a crest, then visit every screen where a badge appears — club page, squad, fixtures, match report, league table — and compare. All eleven checks matched.

Where your crest goes next
Having one reliable source for every crest made something else possible a few weeks later. When we built the 3D stadium, we could paint each club's real crest onto the centre circle and onto the kits in the dressing room — straight from the design you made, never from a picture generated on your behalf. Your crest is yours; the game only ever reproduces it.
The same crest now also appears next to your name when you comment on this blog, so other managers can see which club you run.
