Transfer market overview
How the AI transfer market works, listings, windows and your options.
The transfer market in ManageFC is fully procedural. AI clubs list players for sale based on their squad needs and financial pressures, and they actively scout the wider player pool for targets. You participate on the same terms: browse listings, scout targets, place bids, negotiate contracts.
Transfer windows
Most countries operate two transfer windows per season: a long summer window before the season starts, and a shorter mid-season winter window. Some countries vary the dates slightly. Outside windows you can still complete free transfers (out-of-contract players) and loan recalls subject to terms.
Listings vs scouting
- Listings — players the owning club has actively put up for sale, with a published asking price. Faster negotiations.
- Unlisted players — anyone in the player pool can be bid on; the AI may say no immediately, or negotiate if pressed.
- Free agents — out-of-contract players you can sign at any time (no fee, just contract terms).
AI behaviour
AI clubs prioritise their own squad balance and finances. A small club with a star player will accept reasonable bids once a release-clause-style threshold is met. A big club with a fringe player will hold out for full value. Distress-sale opportunities appear when an AI club is in financial trouble — watch the news feed for these.
Your reputation matters
Higher-reputation clubs negotiate from a stronger position. A small-country club bidding on a top-tier prospect will often see the bid rejected even at full value because the player's agent prefers a bigger move. Build club reputation through results and continental qualification to expand your access to the player pool.
