Transfer market
Chapter 13 of 21 · see all chapters
🔄 The transfer market lives inside your career: it lists the players the simulated AI clubs are willing to sell, with asking prices that reflect their attributes, age, contract length and the selling club's finances. The market is deep — at any moment there are several hundred listed players across all 211 countries. The Online league and Friends have no market of their own: your squad there is the one you built in your career.
Bidding is multi-step. You submit an opening bid; the selling club either accepts (your bid is at or above its bar, around 90% of the player's market value in the default case), rejects (well below the bar — and a rejected bid sours the relationship on the record), or counter-offers. A counter is a straight cash figure near market value (92–96% by default): there are no add-ons, sell-on percentages or swap deals in the engine. You can accept, reject or counter back. If both clubs agree, complete the transfer and the player joins on the salary you proposed — no separate agent round exists in the current build. Either side can walk at any step. Scout reports before bidding are essential: the listed asking price reflects the AI's valuation, not necessarily fair value.
Transfer workflow
- Identify a need: open the Squad screen, find a position with shallow depth or weak quality.
- Set scouting filters on the Scouting screen matching that position, age range and attribute profile.
- When scouts report a match, scout the player in depth before bidding — this sharpens current and potential ability estimates.
- Submit an opening bid at 75-85% of asking price. Most AI clubs counter rather than accept.
- Negotiate the deal. The counter is a straight cash number, so the fee itself is the only lever — no add-ons can bridge the gap.
- Name the salary in the proposal — that is the wage he joins on. Check the wage budget before you commit.
