Board & objectives
Chapter 15 of 21 · see all chapters
📋 The board room page tracks four objectives, and they are the same four for every club — what changes is the bar. The league target is set by your division: top 3 in division 1, top 5 in division 2, top half in division 3, mid table in division 4, safe mid-table in division 5, and avoid relegation from division 6 down. The other three are fixed: win at least 50% of your matches, keep the club financially healthy (a one million balance is the target the page measures against), and reach the cup quarter-final. Each one shows live progress as the season unfolds — they are a scoreboard, not a contract.
Board confidence is the number that actually moves, and it is driven purely by results. The score runs 0 to 100 and starts at 50, in the neutral band. Bands are: hostile at 20 or below, tension up to 40, neutral up to 60, confidence up to 80, and excellent above it. Every match applies a fixed step: a win is +3, a win by three goals or more is +5, a draw changes nothing, a defeat is −4, and a third consecutive defeat is −8. A third consecutive win adds a small +2 bonus on top of the win itself. Nothing else in the engine adjusts it — no weekly drift, no objective bonuses.
The band matters because the board's budget modifier hangs off it: hostile cuts your budget by 20%, tension by 5%, neutral changes nothing, confidence adds 10% and excellent adds 20%. The board also writes to you on its own schedule — crossing into a new band produces a message in your inbox, and a three-defeat run produces an urgent one asking you to account for the slide.
Working the confidence score
- Read the four objective cards at the start of a season — the league target tells you which half of the table the board expects.
- Track the score after each match, not weekly: it only moves on results, and the deltas are small enough that a bad month is visible.
- Break losing runs early — the fourth defeat costs −4, but the third cost you −8; the penalty is for the streak, so a draw is worth real money.
- Protect the goal difference in games you are winning — a three-goal margin pays +5 instead of +3.
- Watch the band, not just the score: dropping from confidence to neutral quietly removes a 10% budget bonus.
