Picking a club
Chapter 3 of 21 · see all chapters
🗺️ Where you choose to manage shapes the entire save. ManageFC models 211 countries with their own league pyramids, and the save wizard lets you build the world you want: your base country's pyramid plus the divisions you add from other countries, up to 40 leagues. Every country in a save runs on the same season clock — one 245-day season, 35 weeks, then a rollover. You do not pick an existing club: your club is created from scratch in division 10 of your base country, and everything you win is built on the way up.
Heat modifiers are optional flags chosen at save creation — financial fragility, injury-prone squad, transfer freeze, media pressure, rivalry intensity and youth-only. They are recorded on the save and shown on its slot, so you always know how a world was started, and the wizard lets you pick any combination. One honest note for the current build: the flags are stored and displayed, but they are not yet read by the simulation, so they change nothing about your club, your rivals or the difficulty of a match. Treat them today as a label for how you intend to play that save — and note that the difficulty you actually feel comes from the country you build your pyramid in.
How to choose well
- New to the genre? Keep the default rules — you start in division 10 and the climb is the game, whatever the country.
- Think about the country's tier: a stronger football nation means a tougher pyramid at every division.
- Nothing is hard-locked behind heat modifiers — you can build any kind of save without them.
- Want a long-term project? Take the default rules and commit to the full climb through the divisions.
