Creating your first save
Chapter 2 of 21 · see all chapters
💾 A save, which the game calls a career, is a complete game world of your own. When you create one, the engine builds the leagues you selected (your base country's pyramid plus the divisions you add from other countries, 40 leagues maximum), populates them with procedural clubs (each with its own crest, kits and stadium), seeds thousands of players with realistic attribute distributions, builds the fixture calendar, sets up cup competitions, and snapshots a starting transfer market. ManageFC models 211 countries overall; a full 40-league world carries around 14,000 players (15 clubs per division, 23 players per squad). Generation typically takes 10 to 60 seconds — you can leave the page and come back; your world keeps being built.
Your club is made once, in the club creator, before your first career: name, short name and colours, crest, home and away kits. It is the same club in every career and in every mode, and every choice can be changed later from the Club Settings screen. Starting a career then builds its world: you name it, pick the base country and optional heat modifiers, choose the leagues that populate it, and the world is generated around your club.
Step-by-step
- Open the new-save wizard from the main menu, or click "Create save" on the Saves screen if you already have one.
- Pick the leagues for your world: your base country's pyramid (up to 10 divisions) plus the divisions you add from other countries, 40 leagues maximum.
- Your own club is created from scratch in division 10 of your base country, the foot of the pyramid — the climb through the divisions is the game.
- Choose or generate a club identity: name, kits, colours and crest. Defaults are sensible if you just want to start playing.
- Optionally select heat modifiers — they are recorded on the save and listed on your save slot.
- Submit. The progress bar polls the job queue every second; when it hits 100% you are redirected to the dashboard of your new save.
