Under the Hood

Under the Hood explains how the ManageFC simulation actually works. These posts open up the systems that decide what happens in your world: how a match is simulated minute by minute, what the daily tick does when you skip time, where a club's money comes from, and how tactics and formations change the odds on the pitch.

We write them because a management game is only fair if its rules can be understood. When you lose a match you expected to win, you should be able to find out why — the opponent's shape, your team's condition, or simply the variance that makes football worth watching.

The figures in these posts come from the game itself and from the large batches of simulated matches we run whenever we tune the engine. When a figure changes after a balance update, the post is updated with it.
