League structure โ 211 countries, divisions, promotion/relegation
How the world of ManageFC is organised and how clubs move up and down.
ManageFC simulates 211 countries, each with its own league pyramid. League sizes, division counts and competitive shape vary by country โ a top-five country might have four professional tiers feeding into a national cup, while a smaller federation might have two divisions and a knockout cup decided in a single weekend.
Divisions and pyramid
Each country has at least one top division and typically one to three tiers below. The number of clubs per division is balanced to produce a coherent fixture calendar within the season. All clubs are procedural โ generated at world creation โ but they carry consistent identities across seasons: name, colours, reputation, stadium.
Promotion and relegation
- The top clubs from each division (typically 2โ3) earn promotion to the tier above.
- The bottom clubs (typically 2โ4 depending on division size) are relegated.
- Some countries use a promotion playoff for the final slot โ single match or short knockout.
League calendar
League fixtures run on a double round-robin in most divisions: every club plays every other club twice (home and away). A 16-club league produces 30 matchdays. The fixture generator spreads matchdays across the season with up to six matchdays per week, building in pauses for Christmas and New Year (see Season cycle).
League prestige
Each league carries a prestige rating that drives wage market levels, sponsor scaling and TV money. Winning a top-five-country top-flight is financially transformative; winning a small-country third division is a stepping stone, not a windfall.
