Bidding and negotiation
How bids progress, counter-offers, deadlines, and reading what the AI actually wants.
A transfer in ManageFC has two halves: agree a fee with the selling club, then agree terms with the player. Either half can collapse the deal, so both need attention.
Fee negotiation
You submit a bid. The AI responds: accept, reject, or counter. Counter-offers often request a higher base, performance-based add-ons (appearances, goals, promotion bonuses), or a sell-on percentage. Add-ons let you keep the up-front cost down and pay only if the player delivers.
Reading the AI
- An immediate accept usually means you overpaid โ next time start lower.
- A counter close to your offer is the typical handshake range. Meet halfway and the deal usually closes.
- A counter much higher than your offer means the AI doesn't want to sell. Walk away or wait for circumstances to change.
- A flat reject with no counter is a hard no. Don't spam โ repeated rebids without movement annoy the AI club and the player.
Player terms
Once the fee is agreed, contract talks begin. The player's agent quotes a wage and contract length. You can negotiate down on base wages by offering performance bonuses, loyalty bonus, or a release clause. A reasonable counter usually closes the deal; an aggressive lowball will end talks.
Deadlines
Transfer windows have hard close dates. Bids initiated in the final 48 in-game hours often need to move at premium prices because the AI knows you're desperate. Plan major windows early โ start scouting and initial approaches well before deadline day.
