Season cycle โ calendar year, 6 matchdays per week, Christmas pause
How the in-game year works and the rhythm of the fixture calendar.
ManageFC uses a calendar-year season model. The world rolls over on 1 January UTC, at which point a fresh competitive season begins. Inside the year the fixture generator schedules up to six matchdays per week, with a deliberate pause across the Christmas and New Year period.
Matchday cadence
A typical week schedules league fixtures across two main matchdays plus midweek cup or continental fixtures depending on the round. Some countries shift midweek matchdays to accommodate domestic broadcasting patterns. The result feels like a real football calendar: weekends are league-heavy, midweek is for cup and Europe.
Christmas pause
From roughly 22 December to 3 January there are no fixtures. This is the natural moment to take stock: review squad condition, plan winter transfers, set training intensity, and read the Inbox for board check-ins and unresolved press follow-ups. Some users also use the pause to enable Vacation Mode.
Season rollover
On 1 January the season rolls over: clubs, honours, club history and your save's progress are preserved. Players age by one year, the retirement engine processes veterans at risk, and the new season's fixture calendar is generated and immediately playable.
Skipping days
The tick system lets you skip one or three in-game days at a time. The save engine processes everything that would have happened โ fixtures simulate, training applies, condition recovers, injuries resolve, inbox messages arrive. You can replay important matches you missed, or move on. The save is yours and the pace is yours.
