Player development โ training, mentoring and caps
Daily training, weekly mentoring, and the attribute caps that decide how far a player can grow.
Every player carries a hidden peak capacity (PC) ceiling. Their full capacity (FC) grows through training, match minutes and mentoring, but never crosses the PC cap. PC itself can drift up by a small margin for very young players who get consistent senior minutes, and drift down for players who stagnate on the bench during their growth window.
Daily training
The Training page lets you assign players to focused programmes: attacking, defending, technical, physical, goalkeeping, set pieces, plus an individual focus. Each day the engine rolls attribute gains weighted by the programme, the player's age and growth window, condition, and the quality of your coaching staff.
- Young players (16โ22) gain the most from focused training.
- Higher-rated coaches in the relevant category (attacking, defending, fitness, GK) deliver larger and more frequent gains.
- Players cannot train productively below 60 condition โ programme them with light load when tired.
Mentoring
Mentoring runs weekly. You pair a young player with an experienced senior (usually 28+ with high professionalism). Over weeks the mentee picks up small determination, leadership and work-rate gains, and sometimes a tactical familiarity boost. A bad mentor โ low professionalism, low morale โ can have neutral or negative effect, so choose carefully.
Match minutes
Real games are still the fastest growth path for prospects in their peak development years. Cup ties and lower-stakes league fixtures are the cleanest way to rotate prospects in without compromising results. The match engine tracks individual match ratings and feeds them into the development model โ a 7.8 average rating across ten games translates into visible attribute progress.
